The girl from Kensington appeared before Bulawayo senior magistrate Sibongile Msipa on Wednesday with co-accused Marshal Nkomo (34) of Mzilikazi and told the court that the cops had shoved a banana into her private parts.

She claimed to have been assaulted first before a banana was shoved into her private parts.

After hearing the girl’s complaints, Msipa ordered the prosecutor to immediately call the Criminal Investigations Department officer-in-charge to investigate the allegations and remanded the case to May 5.

The girl and Nkomo were accused of breaking into Believe Madongorere’s house in Highmount on April 7 at around 11am and stealing property worth $222.

A report made by the complainant led to the arrest of the 17-year-old girl on April 16 and she then implicated Nkomo. Only $7 worth of property was recovered.
