The festival which will run under the theme “Bring your fire” has been scheduled for May 30 to June 1 at Ezulwini Valley.

The band has just returned from on a successful tour which saw them performing in Austria, Australia, Belgium, Denmark, Germany, Luxembourg, New Zealand, Norway, Switzerland and the United kingdom.

Band manager Marcus Gora said in a statement the group have lined up a number of shows before the Swazi festival. The Swazi festival started in 2007 and has developed a well deserved reputation for its visionary approach, integrity and a call to act which defines its commitment to nurturing the Swazi arts and cultural scene.

“Mokoomba is back — come and see them live at the Book Café this Friday evening and the following day at Miombo Magic festival in Christon Bank (Mazowe),” Gora said.

Mokoomba would later travel to Mozambique where the group is slated to perform at the AZGO festival in Maputo on May 23 and later in Johannesburg where it will be part of the Fest Fire festival route supported by African Synergy and Pamberi.

Gora added: “We are excited about the festival, it’ll be our first time to perform there and we look forward to share our art with a new audience.”

The six-member group consists of Mathias Muzaza, Abundance Mutpri, Costa Ndaba, Trustworthy Moyo, Samende Miti Mugande and McDonald Moyo.
