Patrick Chademana, the chairperson of the show’s sub-committee on marketing told journalists that 13 new exhibitors had taken up stands at this year’s show.

“We have new exhibitors coming on board. These include Sabado Trading, which deals in farm equipment. We have the Midlands Private Hospital coming to exhibit as well as others like Rio Tinto, Trust Academy, Competition and Tariffs Commission, among others,” he said.

Chademana said 150 exhibitors had taken up stands, an indication that despite the economic challenges the country was facing, the Midlands was still making efforts to revive its collapsed industry.

He said Finance minister Patrick Chinamasa would officially open the show running under the theme “Entrepreneurship for economic recovery”.

Chinamasa would also grace the business conference on Friday where he is set to present a paper on what the government is doing to assist small businesses grow.

“The thrust is on small-to-medium enterprises as they are now the backbone of the economy amid collapsing of big companies,” said Chademana.
