Bangladesh A require another 61 runs with nine wickets remaining
ZIMBABWE A lost six wickets for just 73 runs in their second innings in a batting collapse that left Bangladesh A in control of the third day of the first four-day encounter at Sheikh Kamal International Cricket Stadium in Cox’s Bazar yesterday.
At stumps, Bangladesh A were on 43 for one in their second innings and trailing the touring Zimbabwe A side by just 60 runs with nine wickets in hand.
Zimbabwe A had briefly looked in control of the match after an inspired spell of spin bowling by Wellington Masakadza and Tinotenda Mutombodzi who restricted the hosts to 211 all-out in their first innings from their overnight 162 for three.
Young Masakadza captured six wickets for 63 runs in 38 overs while Mutombodzi grabbed four wickets for 38 runs in 21,4 overs.

After the brilliant bowling display, Zimbabwe A, who had scored 206 runs in their first innings, would have hoped to build a healthy lead, but they were cheaply bowled out for a measly 108 runs in 48,2 overs.
Brian Chari top scored for Zim A with 23 runs while skipper Vusumuzi Sibanda (19), Luke Jongwe (16), Mark Vermeulen (11) and Wellington Masakadza (11) were the other double digit scorers for Zimbabwe.
Saqlain Sajib, who captured nine wickets for 82 runs in the first innings for Bangladesh, claimed six wickets for 50 runs in 21,2 overs in the second innings while Zubair Hossain grabbed four wickets for 18 runs in 10 overs.
Bangladesh will resume their second innings confident of completing a comfortable win.
