Pure Platinum Play has been in top drawer form under the guidance of Norman Mapeza in cup competitions, winning the ZNA Charity Shield and reaching the last four of the Chibuku Super Cup last week.

That form, however, is yet to translate to the league where they have lost twice in three matches so far under Mapeza.

And now they have a monumental task of taming Dynamos under the stewardship of coach Kalisto Pasuwa who is chasing an unprecedented fourth league crown in a row.

“It is going to be a tough match for both sides. They (Dynamos) are chasing the title and won’t want to drop points. For us we have been playing good football and we want to maintain that form,” Vheremu said.

“We are on top of our game and I am confident that we will win against them. We are all motivated and confident of winning.”

Vheremu’s own goal at Mandava in 2011 decided the match when Dynamos were crowned champions.

But the captain is not bent on revenge.

“It is not about revenge as such. We just want to win and make the entire FC Platinum family happy,” he said. “Beating Dynamos will not make us think of winning the championship. They have already opened a very big gap and in fact, we are closer to relegation than the title.

“So we want to make sure that we are in a good position to survive relegation because we are not safe.”

The miners have amassed a total of 31 points from 22 matches, with a meager four points above the drop zone.
