The seven-member outfit calling itself Volte Face Gang (VFG) comprises Pride aka Pmdee, Phil Corey, Nigel aka Krazxzy katt, Slynis aka Maggie, Noma Ndlovu, Keith Nkala aka Kissmoney and Clifford aka Cliff Jeans, and also features famous artistes Dj Mzoe7, Cal-Vin and Chets.

In an interview yesterday, Ndlovu said the rappers’s main aim was to create a competitive attitude in the local rap music genré.

“Our objective is to equally yoke ourselves with international rappers thus our standard has been set too high.

“We want to prove ourselves lyrically so that upon recognition we can then compete on international scenes,” Ndlovu said.

She said her group had been quietly rocking the groove in the city for the past few months before their latest album currently rocking the youths.

The album, she said, is specifically targeted at the youths and those young at heart, as it seeks to address issues of how young people ought to hustle for money and jobs to get somewhere in life.

The songs were done mostly in local languages with a little English to accommodate everyone regardless of their educational level.

Kissmoney said: “The album caters for all age groups with songs that talk about life’s hardships and situations which we face as people.

“I have no doubt our followers are going to love it.”

Krazzy Katt said the album was all about bringing a new hip-hop style in Bulawayo.

“We bring a new style of hip-hop with super lyrics and choruses that capture the heart, which is something unusual in Bulawayo.

“We appreciate our recording company Volte Face Records under Cal-Vin for doing a great job in putting all this together,” he said.
