Midlands State University (MSU) in collaboration with the University of Venda, South Africa, will next month host an international conference on economic integration, entrepreneurship and sustainable development.

The conference, to be held from October 14 to 16 at MSU, is aimed at bringing together researchers from around the world to discuss new trends in business, economics, finance, management and social development.

According to MSU, the conference will focus on issues relevant to special economic zones and entrepreneurship skills.

“The emphasis of the conference will be on high-quality, theoretical and/or applied research focusing on issues relevant to special economic zones, entrepreneurial skills development and innovation, entrepreneurship education, other emerging trends as well as challenges to economic development in Southern Africa and the way forward,” MSU said on its official website.

The conference will touch on economic integration encompassing special economic zones, regional trade, collaborations of economic actors, beneficiation and value addition, microfinance institutions and SME development, entrepreneurship education as well as opportunities and challenges of doing business in Southern Africa.

Other topics to be covered are informal sector formalisation, human capital development, climate change, environmental management and social well-being.
