According to Soccer-Laduma, Mamelodi Sundowns coach Pitso Mosimane has been in contact with the player. Mosimane is said to be an admirer of the Zimbabwean and has been wooing him in the hope of bringing him to Pretoria ahead of the forthcoming season.

Billiat has been surrounded by transfer rumours in the off-season, with the player being linked with a move abroad as well as to major local clubs.

Russian side Lokomotiv Moscow flew the player out for a trial with the team while they were in Slovenia, but nothing has come out of those trials, although the player’s representative Edzai Kasinauyo said they were still waiting for an official report on the trials from the club.

The Warriors forward has also been linked with a move to either France or Belgium. But with interest in the player growing locally, Billiat might end up staying in South Africa even though he has not hidden his desire to play football abroad.

Soweto giants Orlando Pirates had also been heavily linked with a bid for Billiat, who was said to be one of their top targets, but Sundowns’ bumper offer may have removed them from the race for his signature.
