CENTRAL Soccer League (CSL) log leaders Chapungu, will likely continue with their march towards the championship when they host an out-of-sorts Gaths Mine on Sunday in what looks set to be an easy walk in the park for the airmen.

Gaths Mine are smarting from a 1-3 defeat to FC Platinum last weekend, while Chapungu are emerging from a 1-0 victory over city rivals Hwahwa in a tightly contested derby last weekend.

Chapungu are yet to taste defeat this season, winning 13 matches and drawing three times in the 16 games they have played so far to amass 42 points. Their opponents have won seven games, drawn four and lost five.

The Gweru side, who last tasted Premiership football seven years ago, will aim for maximum points against the Mashava-based outfit who are sixth on the log. Waruwaru are enjoying an eight-point cushion at the top of the log, ahead of second-placed Chrome stars.

Leading goalscorer in the CSL, Callisto Maheya, will make a return this week after serving a one-game suspension for accumulating three yellow cards, and the former Hardbody striker would be looking to increase his goal tally aiming for the golden boot award.
