He takes over from Senior Assistant Commissioner Ronald Muderedzwa who is now Zanu PF MP for Buhera Central.
Speaking during his farewell party that was held at Marondera Central Police Station, Muderedzwa said he always had a dream to be a politician.
“It is my pleasure to inform you that I am no longer a law enforcer, but a lawmaker,” he said.
“Together with (Assistant Commissioner Oliver) Mandipaka, (William)Mutomba and (Joseph) Chinotimba we wrestled and defeated the opposition in their strongholds in Buhera and I am very happy of that,” he said.
Muderedzwa told the audience which consisted of top police officers mainly from the province, that he would push for civil servants to get a salary increment.
“Remember I am a civil servant also and I am quite aware of the issue of salaries.
