PROMINENT Bulawayo-based economic analyst Eric Bloch is due for an operation tomorrow for an undisclosed ailment after being booked sick for the past two weeks.

Bloch has not been in the office for the past two weeks forcing him to miss some of his private and public engagements, including penning his weekly column in our sister paper the Zimbabwe Independent last week.
Southern Eye yesterday had a brief chat with the economic commentator who seats on several company boards, including the Reserve Bank of Zimbabwe, and he confirmed that he was in pain — although not giving much detail.
“It is very painful and I will be going for an operation in Harare on Thursday,” Bloch said.
A source close to him said Bloch had been undergoing several medical tests until he was hospitalised last week when the illness got worse.
Bloch is a chartered accountant by profession and has been actively involved as a commentator in Zimbabwe’s macro and microeconomic environment for a long time.
