Tshuma and Moyo pocketed $80 for winning the tournament while the losing finalists Chirwa and Nyathi got $60.

Chirwa and Nyathi who play for the league title contenders Railstars, went down 1-2 to Tshuma and Moyo in the final.

Sikhumbuzo Muzondiwa grabbed a $15 incentive for his first bull close while Bellevue’s Nhlanhla Sibanda got $10 for scoring the first 180.

The provincial league secretary Lethukuthula Nkomo said the tournament was a success and registered a very good turnout.

“The tournament was a success especially to Highlanders who managed to scout a player and it received a good turnout, we saw the participation of 34 doubles which is a good number,” Nkomo said.

Meli Tshuma who impressed most league clubs might be joining Highlanders before the end of the season.

Sikhulile Sibanda, the Highlanders Darts Club vice-captain, impressed by Tshuma’s game, said his inclusion in the team might be a boost to the club.

“He is a good player and I believe he is someone who can bring life to the club.

“We definitely need such players,” Sibanda said.
