WARRIORS and Kaizer Chiefs star striker Knowledge Musona could be out for a month following a shoulder injury he suffered in a Telkom Knockout quarter-final match two weeks ago.

Musona suffered a suspected broken shoulder while scoring Chiefs’ equaliser against Free State Stars, forcing the match to a penalty shoot-out — a tie which the Glamour Boys eventually won.

Musona was immediately substituted after scoring the goal and appeared to be in real pain.

The injury meant the “Smiling Assassin” was out of the Soweto derby this past weekend.

Media reports from South Africa yesterday suggested Musona suffered an “uncommon injury” and would in all likelihood only return to action early in December.

“Musona’s injury is not a common shoulder injury,” Chiefs spokesman Vina Maphosa said yesterday.

“His return to action will be determined by how he responds to treatment.”

Chiefs have striker Lehlohonolo Majoro and Kaizer Motaung junior out injured, with only Kingston Nkhatha and Bernard Parker as recognised attackers.

Musona has four goals in all competitions this season since rejoining Chiefs on loan from German Bundesliga outfit Hoffenheim.
