Platinum are three points behind DeMbare and City, two from Highlanders and are hoping to win their remaining four matches and for the three to falter so they would be in the picture to win the title for the first time since they came into the league in 2011.

Head coach Lloyd Mutasa yesterday said they have to make sure they win all their league matches, starting with the game against Chicken Inn on Sunday.

“We know we are playing Chicken Inn, which is a very good side. The top teams are in a good position to lift the title, but football being football as you know, anything can happen. We will take advantage of any mishaps and grab the chance, but we are not putting ourselves under any immense pressure. All the lads are itching to go. In the last games, everyone wants to give it a go as they want to know where they would be next year and we also have the soccer star and club awards that are coming,” Mutasa said.

The platinum miners are buoyant after dismissing town neighbours Shabanie Mine 1-0 last weekend and are definitely be looking forward to cruising past Chicken Inn and beating Black Mambas, How Mine and Buffaloes in the last games.

Chicken Inn will host Platinum with new coach Joey Antipas who took over after Mandla “Lulu” Mpofu quit.

Antipas, former Motor Action coach, drew his first game against Monomotapa in Harare last weekend and will play his first in Bulawayo on Sunday.

Leading scorer Tendai Ndoro and Kudakwashe Mahachi, expected in the country today from trials with South African side Mamelodi Sundowns, are the two men to watch in the GameCox camp.

Also at Chicken Inn are Clement Matawu, Tendai Mukambi, Mkhokheli Dube and Canaan Nkomo.
