SuperSport said the half hour delay in beaming the tie was due to a technical fault.

“SuperSport would like to express their regret for the late broadcast of the Highlanders vs Dynamos match on Sunday.

“A technical fault arose when the link between the stadium and the satellite could not be established resulting in a 30-minute delay in broadcasting the live pictures.

“This fault also resulted in the high definition (HD) broadcast not being possible.

SuperSport and MultiChoice Zimbabwe are committed to bringing the subscribers the best that the league has to offer and will work towards continued coverage of the league,” a statement from SuperSport read.

Football fans around the country had expressed anger at the leading sport channel failing to pitch the game on time.

The match made history by becoming the first local football match to be broadcast live in the splendour of HD on the SuperSport 1HD channel.
