Tsholotsho centre depends on one electric pump for water, but the latest power cuts have hit water supplies leaving residents facing a serious crisis as they have to depend on other water sources.

Residents have gone without water since Tuesday last week due to rapid load-shedding in the area which sees them having power for just 30 minutes a day.

Residents said the situation was so dire and urged the relevant authorities to address the problem before the water crisis triggers an outbreak of disease.

“We have been facing this problem silently since and we appeal to relevant authorities to address it seriously. It is very sad that although the situation has been bad for some days, authorities don’t seem to be taking any action,” one resident said.

Residents said with running water only available for 30 minutes a day when there is power, the only other alternative water sources are a few boreholes which do little to help.
