Black Coffee was expected to perform at Horizon Pub and Restaurant.

The promoters said they were informed late that the DJ-cum-musician was no longer coming after missing his flight from Bloemfontein to Johannesburg for a connecting flight to Bulawayo.

One of the directors, Mduduzi Mdlongwa, told Southern Eye that they were very angry and disappointed to learn that after making all arrangements for the show and paying clearances to the government, they were told late that Black Coffee was no longer coming.

“Yes, Black Coffee was expected to perform here today (yesterday), but we have been told that he will not be there today after he missed the flight from Bloemfontein to Johannesburg,” Mdlongwa said.

“We were told that the plane they were expected to fly in to Johannesburg had developed problems and he had to hike to Johannesburg, but when he got to the airport the plane (to Bulawayo) had left.”

Mdlongwa said failure by Black Coffee to meet his obligations had cost 3D Events Management a lot as it had paid a lot of money in preparation for the event.

“We are very angry. People paid for the show and telling them that the performer is no longer coming is really embarrassing,” Mdlongwa said.
