Dani Chuma, of Mkhosana high-density who is a co-ordinator at Christ Embassy Church in Victoria Falls, was convicted on her own plea of guilty by resident magistrate Sharon Rosemani of knowingly using a forged document.

Chuma admitted to using a fake driver’s licence for three years and was fined $300 in default of which she would be locked up for six months. Prosecutor Takunda Ndovorwi told the court that on February 4 at around 8:30am, Chuma was stopped at a police roadblock at the hospital turn off while driving a Ford Bantam along the Victoria Falls-Bulawayo road.

She was asked to produce a driver’s licence and tendered the bogus one intending to deceive the police officer. The counterfeit licence was taken to the Vehicle Inspections Department for verification where it was confirmed as fake.
