The father Salani Tshenzele (51), who was aged 38 years at the time of the commission of the offence in 2000 was jailed for 14 years, while his younger brother Philimon Lisenga (45), who was aged 32 years then, got a nine-year jail term for killing Joe Enock Sibanda (20).

They accused him of being unfit to be their brother-in-law as he was a womaniser.

Harare High Court judge Justice Susan Mavangira spared the two men from capital punishment after observing that the pair committed the offence under the influence of alcohol.

The court heard Sibanda met his fate on December 25 2000 just after drinking beer in the company of his assailants at Chaichai bottle store in Chiredzi.
