Life gives you what you put into it

God is very generous and just. He gave to all of us, poor, rich, educated or uneducated, black or white, 24 hours a day and what we do with this resource is up to us as individuals.

If you were to stop a bit and budget your 24 hours, I am sure you will discover that you have wasted so much time on useless things that never add value to your life, your community or nation. You have spent so much time on things that destroy than give life.

You have a choice to make on how you want to use time as given to you daily. Time is one resource that never lacks. It is available and is free.

It surprises me to see how much people fail to see the value of time as a resource so critical in building lives and destinies.

I believe that if you cannot manage this free resource you cannot manage other resources that you are looking for. Somebody might argue to say I spend my day at work. Fine, but you spend only eight hours and what do you do with 16 hours?

Well today I wanted to encourage someone to take their life seriously.

You see, life gives you what you give to it. It is what you, personally, give out to life that you receive from life.

Life is premised on a huge and eternal principle of sowing and reaping, seeding and harvesting or simply, giving and receiving.

Everything in life is given and received.

You must consider what you give first as an individual. This is important to you and others around you.

Before we would judge a community or nation, we must look at what individuals making that community gave out or give out to life.

It is this that makes communities what they are. If people give out love, the community is full of love. If people give out hatred, violence and others, the community is full of hatred and violence. It is what you do, give, sow and seed, as an individual that matters and affects the quality and character of the community.

Look at your life today. What are you receiving? It is not something new?

At some point you gave it out knowingly or unknowingly. The Bible teaches: “Give and it shall come back to you, in good measure, pressed down, shaken together and running over, shall men give into your bosom.

“For with the same measure that you give, it shall be given back to you.”

This is a principle of life that we ignore at our own peril.

This giving is not only about good things only. You can give bad things. You can give evil. Whatever you give it shall be given back to you in the same measure, but this time with profits. Giving is investment.

All human life is based on this principle. What are you giving therefore? Most of us give out selfishness all the time and we complain no one notices us or helps us. You cannot attract people and their good works or rewards to you when you constantly give them a cold shoulder.

If life is all about you, it is boring. Give love and people will give you love. Give gossip and pride and people will give you that. Do unto others as you would like them to do unto you. Let me give you a tip.

  • l Before you despair and give up on life, why don’t you take a moment to look back on what you have been giving out to life yourself. The challenge with many of us is that we often look at what others are doing to us or against us and never stop to look at what we are doing to others or against them. What they are doing to you might be a result of what you are doing to them yourself.Stop and check. What are you giving out to life? Do not demand what you have not banked. How do you bank gossip, hatred and lies, but hope to withdraw love, peace and joy from that life account? It is impossible.

  •  When you think everyone is against you, then you are on the road to fail. Many people have gone into various caves hiding from a false attitude that says “everyone hates me”. When you see wrong everywhere, you will sow “wrong attitudes and perceptions” and get ensnared. Because of this, many people are so negative about life and about everything around them. They sow negative things, but still expect life to reward them with positive things. Whatever you give is what you will receive in this life.

  •  Give love to get love. Give hope to get hope. Give money to get money. Give peace to get peace. Violence will never bring about peace. Peace will be brought about by peace. Give friendship to get friendship. Such is life.
