The DJ is going around the country promoting his album in Zimbabwe media houses. In an interview with Southern Eye Lifestyle yesterday, the DJ confirmed touring different media houses in a bid to promote the album.

“I have visited media houses such as ZiFM and ZBC. They welcomed me and I am glad that one day I will come back to the country and conduct shows together with them producing music that will be accepted by many Zimbabweans,” he said.

He added that he was inspired by the track Mazimbabwe where he sings about the people from his motherland. Some of his tracks have been played in Cape Town’s radios like Cape FM and Cape Radio. The DJ had the late Tongai Moyo as his inspiration when he started composing music.

“Tongai has been my mentor and inspiration in my music. He was a great person and played great music.

“He inspired a lot of people. He will be greatly remembered for his contribution to Zimbabwean music and to African songs,” he said.

DJ Phitso said in future, he would want to shift from playing rhumba beats to being a gospel singer.

“My hopes in the future are singing gospel music.

“I will try hard to compose gospel music as I am inspired by Rebecca Malope and Charles Charamba,” he added.
