Chiredzi FC chairman Charles Muchatukwa yesterday said the legendary Chunga will be in charge of the team as they have ironed out their differences and the executive committee is meeting this morning to map the way forward.

Chunga allegedly had a misunderstanding with his superiors involving finances after the 0-1 loss to Dynamos on Africa Day, but Muchatukwa yesterday said the issue had been resolved.

“Everything is in place. He (Chunga) will be in charge of the game against Hwange. We are having a meeting tomorrow (today) morning after which we will issue a statement,” Muchatukwa said.

Chiredzi FC, handed over to the community by its sponsors Tongaat Hullet, who also finance Triangle, have struggled in the top-flight league and have only won one game beating Bantu Rovers 2-0 at Luveve Stadium on May 3.

They have lost six times and played two draws in nine matches, anchoring the log standings and face yet another daunting task tomorrow when they clash with Chipangano — who have only lost once and are on position two with 18 points — just one behind pacesetters Highlanders.

Skipper Fidelis Mangezi, Tapiwa Dephistara, Malvern Gaki, Allan Gwatidzo, Brighton Pamhirwa and Ashley Mukwena are some of the players at Chiredzi who are at the bottom of the log standings with five points from nine matches.

Nation Dube’s Hwange have started the season on a good note with a relatively strong squad that has Warriors right-back Erick Chipeta, Rodwell Chinyengetere, Evans Rusike, Aleck Marime, Tafara Chese, Isaac Masame, Farai Vimisayi and veterans David Boriwondo, Gilbert Zulu and Gerald Ndlovu.
