According to the chairperson of the Rhino Awareness Campaign, Gail Amyot, Nkomo’s route will be posted on their website.

She said Nkomo would engage with villagers and young people along the route during his scheduled stopovers.

Amyot said the rhino awareness walk campaign started as a small thing, but had since gathered momentum with many people coming forward and donating in cash and kind.

Priscilla Lambert of Bonsa SPAR donated caps, T-shirts and vouchers towards the campaign.

“I am sure our donation will go a long way to help raise funds for the conservation of the rhino and elephants in the country,” said Lambert.

Nkomo is set to be received by government officials and supporters at the end of his walk on October 18.
