ZIFA Central Region Division One second-placed Midlands State University FC (MSU FC) got the better of Kwekwe’s Silo United in a league match played on Saturday at the university’s grounds in Gweru.
MSU, who netted an early goal in the first 10 minutes, played a passing game in the first half of the match.
The students, who are a point behind Whawha, went to the breather leading by three well-crafted goals.
Silo Utd came back a more determined side in the second half, but their efforts were unrewarded as MSU added another goal.
Speaking after the match, MSU assistant coach Godfrey Chuchu was happy with his outfit’s performance.
“The boys played well considering that we lost in Beitbridge last week. We managed to pick ourselves up and focus on the title race,” he said.
