CHICKEN Inn coach Joey Antipas says he is happy with the progress of the players who joined the club recently in preparation for the 2015 Castle Lager Premier Soccer League expected to start in March.

The GameCocks acquired former Highlanders’ player Tapiwa Dephistara, Chiredzi’s David Temwanjira, Mitchelle Katsvairo from FC Platinum and Edmore Chirambadare from Tsholotsho FC.
Chicken Inn started season preparations on Tuesday last week and Antipas joined them on Wednesday.
“The team started preparations for the season last week,” Antipas said.
“The new players in the team are Dephistara, Temwanjira, Chirambadare and Katsvairo. I believe that they are good players and hopefully they will add more depth to the team. They are attack-minded players.”
They promoted juniors Amos Ncube, Thulani Nxusani, Musa Phiri, Tambudzai Ngulube and Brighton Manhire while Wandile Ndlovu joins Elvis Chipezeze and Pride Zendera as Chicken Inn shotstoppers.
The GameCocks parted ways with Ramson Zhuwao, Charles Mutero, Tonderai Charles, Last Chibwiro and goalkeeper Bhekimpilo Ncube.

Antipas said he was happy they had retained most of their players.
“I believe in continuity so I am happy that most of the players we had last season are still with us,” he said.
“Our target is to do better than we did last season.”
Some of the players in their books are Danny “Deco” Phiri, Guide Goddard, Clemence Matawu, Passmore Benard, Bhekimpilo “Barca” Ncube, Thomas Chimenya, Ishmael Lawe, Ben Nyahunzvi, Moses Jackson and Toto Banda.
Chicken Inn ended the season on position six on the log table with 44 points from 30 games.
