Every year, there seem to be new rumours about R Mashesha of Big Nuz being dead.

JOHANNESBURG — Every year, there seem to be new rumours about R Mashesha of Big Nuz being dead.

Twitter was buzzing yesterday (Tuesday) with news that the artiste, whose real name is Sibusiso Khumo, had died. Speaking to Daily Sun about the latest rumour, Afrotainment boss DJ Tira said he was tired of people making up stories about R Mashesa.

“This is a very difficult situation and I don’t want to comment about it too much,” Tira said.

“It’s not right because we all have our problems. Just like everyone else in the world, R Mashesha has problems and I wish people could leave him in peace.”

Tira wrote on Twitter: “It’s not true. He is not dead.”

This came after a user named Tlotlo L tweeted: “RIP R Mashesha. Big Nuz will never be the same.”

Tira said he became very worried after the news started spreading on Twitter and phoned R Mashesha’s sister, who told him he was fine.

“I avoid calling him when these things happen because they happen all the time. It’s not a nice thing to deal with and I just choose to give him space,” a sad Tira said.

Daily Sun previously reported that Mashesha had not been performing with the group for three years because of an unknown illness.

This was confirmed by group member Danger, who said Mashesha was recovering and would be back on stage soon.
