Speaking during a courtesy visit to our sister paper NewsDay Sport yesterday, SuperSport marketing manager Marlon Kananda said Zimbabwe PSL was becoming highly competitive – a development which he said could see them continue to broadcast more matches.

“The Zimbabwean Premier Soccer League is becoming highly competitive just like Zambia.

Last season it was becoming very exciting. We try to screen most of the Premier League games not just the big teams such as Caps United, Dynamos and Highlanders. This season we are going to screen more games. There are also cup games, like Chibuku Cup. We will be screening more of these games this season,” Kananda said.

The 2015 Castle Lager PSL season is expected to kick off next weekend on March 21.

The decision was reached at the end of the PSL annual general meeting held in Harare on Saturday with all the 16 leaders of the clubs, who form the PSL board of governors in attendance.

The league was initially set to start on March 7, but was moved to accommodate the Bob 91 Super Cup and FC Platinum’s participation in the Caf Confederation Cup.

The Zvishavane-based side are set to travel to Tanzania tomorrow for a date with Young Africans.
