The beauty extravaganza promotion was launched in 2011 and runs twice annually offering customers specials on all beauty and body care products.

Edgars marketing executive Rumbidzai Dzimba said the 2015 edition of the beauty extravaganza would afford people lots of exciting events to participate in.

“Our beauty consultants are in-store providing free makeovers and beauty advice, giving tips and introducing our customers to new products they may not have tried before,” Dzimba said.

Beauty products brands such as Black Opal, Sleek, Clinique, Flori Roberts and Ponds set up tables to demonstrate their products to the public.

Southern Eye Business spoke to one customers who visited the stands, Nyasha Dube, who said the products were too expensive to buy on a trial and error basis.

“On days like these I can come and sample these products which then make it easier for me to identify what’s best for me and buy with confidence,” said Dube.

Clarette Phiri thanked Edgars for organising the promotion saying she had learnt a lot about skin care, which she hoped would help solve her dermatological problems.

“I have always struggled with oily skin and today I got tips on how to handle most of the issues that have been giving me sleepless nights,” Phiri said.

Although the extravaganza was initially scheduled to end at midday, a massive turnout forced beauty care consultants to extend by another two hours, highlighting an inherent need for skincare advice in society.

The promotion runs throughout the country until April 4, with the second edition of the beauty extravaganza scheduled for November.
