BULAWAYO magistrate Evelyn Mashavakure has issued a warrant of arrest against a Mbembesi police officer, MacDonald Roe Junior Bushe, who allegedly absconded trial in a matter, where he is charged with illegal possession of four grammes of mbanje and another four grammes of imported drugs.

The warrant of arrest was issued last Thursday after Bushe failed to attend his court hearing.
Bushe (28) had on his initial appearance pleaded guilty to the charges and was last week supposed to appear in court for judgment.
The court heard that on May 1 this year, Bushe had a misunderstanding over sweets with an unnamed street vendor at corner Fife Street and 4th Avenue in Bulawayo.
This resulted in them going to Bulawayo Central Police Station ,where the policeman was then searched by other police officers at the charge office.
The police officers recovered four grammes of mbanje worth $4 and 100ml Bron cleer cough syrup and diazepam tablets, with the same value, leading to his arrest.
