VARUN Beverages Zimbabwe (Pvt) Ltd has won the best bottler of the world award, the highest gong globally in the PepsiCo international portfolio.

This, according to the beverage maker, is testament that it produces quality products.

The Pepsi brand is present in nearly 200 countries and Varun Beverages Zimbabwe has come up tops in quality product, volume, share gain and investments.

Varun Beverages set up its first production line in 2018 under the “Zimbabwe open for investment” mantra.

It has now grown into a mega plant with an 80 million bottle and can production capacity per month.

“Varun Beverages feels this would not have been possible without the love and support from the people of Zimbabwe and a healthy environment to investment, safety and security provided by the government of Zimbabwe under the solid leadership and vision of the President of Zimbabwe, Dr Emmerson D Mnangagwa,” the firm said in a statement.

Varun beverages Zimbabwe has almost 2 000 direct employees and an indirect employment of more than 10 000 people.

There are more than 7 000 push carts across the country and the firm is planning to increase the number by introducing 3 000 more by year end.

A senior official at Varun Beverages highlighted in a recent discussion that the company “believes in ensuring value for money for the consumers of its products and services”.

“It is due to these  values that the prices of Varun Beverages Zimbabwe’s 500ml, 1-ltr soft drinks, Aquaclear bottled water and energy drink are the most affordable and the lowest among all the countries Varun Beverages is operating,” the official said.

Leading retail chains are selling Varun’s 500ml beverages at US$1 for three, US$1 for two 1-litre bottles and 2-litre bottle for US$1.

“It is the Varun Beverages push carts, direct van operations and direct selling which keeps the market operating prices under control using high supplies and availability of the product on the market to keep the demand fully serviced which leads to lower operating prices in the market,” the statement added.

“The consumers are well informed of the prices of Varun Beverages products available in various brands and packs like Pepsi, Diet Pepsi, Mirinda Orange, Mirinda Fruity, Mirinda Pineapple, Mountain Dew, 7UP, Evervess Soda, Aquaclear bottled water, Sting energy drink and Pepsi Max through heavy price communication and advertisement.”

These brands are available in 500ml, 1-litre, 2-litre and cans, it said.

Varun Beverages’ energy drink Sting is an international brand from the PepsiCo portfolio and is manufactured locally by Varun Beverages Zimbabwe.

“Varun Beverages has plans to launch fruit juice and flavoured milk in on the go packaging to further strengthen the product portfolio and offer existing consumers of Varun products a complete beverage solution,” the company said.
