BULAWAYO-BASED dance group Isizwe Sabatsha aims to bring the crown home in the provincial Chibuku dancing competition, which will be held at Manor Hotel in Bulawayo next week.
Isizwe Sabatsha dance group founder Lungelo Ncube said they were confident of winning at the event.
“We have been participating in this competition since 2022, and we have managed to do our best, but we have failed to win the crown. At this year’s edition, we aim for the crown and we have been preparing for the day as we are positive we will bring it home,” he told NewsDay Life & Style.
In its maiden participation in 2022, the group came second.
“In all the editions we have participated we gained experience which we believe will make us excel this year. In last year’s edition, we took third position and we learnt that we should stay focused all the time as everything happens for a reason,’’ he added.
Ncube said the Chibuku event was important for artists as it promoted competition.
“This competition has been helping us as it strengthens and creates bonds which are great for good relations, hence making us develop our entertainment industry for the growth of our nation,’’ he said.
Ncube said the group aimed to accommodate more youths to protect them from engaging in illegal activities, which might jeopardise their future.

“We believe this year is our year, and God will guide us in the competition as we have been preparing for it. Winning this competition will make us stronger and make us a well-known brand,” he said.
