RENOWNED and internationally-acclaimed Zimbabwean DJ, Allan Mambo (pictured), popularly known as DJ Blaze, is gearing up to headline the prestigious Moto Moto Festival in Cologne, Germany, on July 19.

This year’s festival promises to be an electrifying celebration of African music, culture and creative excellence, bringing together top African and diaspora talent for a showcase of sounds, stories and performances.

As a seasoned wheel spinner and mix master, DJ Blaze has had an illustrious career, playing in countries such as South Africa and Zambia.

His claim to fame began with winning the 2005 Sprite competition and he has since become a crowd mover extraordinaire.

With his unique style and infectious beats, revellers in Cologne, Germany, are in for a treat.

“Revellers in Cologne, Germany, are up for some serious turn-tabling,” DJ Blaze said, expressing excitement for the upcoming festival.

According to Plot Mhako, the curator and director of the Moto Moto Festival, the event offers a unique opportunity for African artistes, especially those from Zimbabwe, to perform on an international stage and connect with new audiences.

The festival will feature a line-up of talented artistes, including Mary Anibal, Nisha Ts, Mwenje Mathole, Wowrae, Mookomba, Merciless Zim and Feli Nandi.

Mhako emphasised the importance of collaboration among government institutions, private sector players, and creatives to position Zimbabwean artistes for international stages.

“To up-and-coming artistes, I say start by refining your craft and building a consistent, professional brand,” he said.

“Take your digital footprint seriously and use social media strategically.”

Mhako highlighted the need for investment in production quality, digital presence and cross-border partnerships to sustain momentum.

The Moto Moto Festival is more than just a cultural exchange concert; it’s a space where tradition meets innovation.

With exciting live collaborations planned, fusing different genres and regional styles, and diaspora link-ups that will showcase Zimbabwean and pan-African creativity, the audience is in for something truly special.
