The second edition of The List Awards, scheduled for November 7 in Harare, will honor hardly celebrated changemakers that selflessly dedicate their lives towards uplifting communities in Zimbabwe and the African continent, organizers have said.
On Tuesday, the awards, a brainchild of Identities Media, launched the nomination process which will see the public selecting local as well as regional trailblazers in 13 different categories until August 17.
“I am proud to affirm that this year’s edition will be bigger, better and even more impactful than our inaugural event.
“The overwhelming response to the first edition inspired us to expand our vision, deepen our reach and elevate our commitment to honoring Zimbabwe’s and Africa’s unsung heroes,” the event’s board chairperson Philani Nyatsanza told journalists in an address.
According to Nyatsanza, finalists and winners of The List Awards will be treated to a night of luxury and celebration during the awards ceremony, where their stories of dedication and impact will not only be honored but told in grand style.
“The List Awards is also introducing additional days of workshops in Harare, designed to provide finalists and winners with valuable opportunities for continued learning, professional growth, and enhanced capacity to drive positive change in their communities,” he said, adding that the event will “represent a disruptive new standard for celebrating excellence”.
“The List Awards were founded to restore dignity to the awards space by recognizing those who work selflessly and tirelessly to uplift our communities. Heroes who do not seek the spotlight but whose actions transform lives.”
