Sporting disciplines that will be on offer at next year’s Southern Africa Development Community (Sadc) games aimed at developing sport in the region are athletics, boxing, basketball, netball, tennis, swimming, football and judo.
SRC corporate communications officer Tirivashe Nheweyembwa yesterday told Southern Eye Sport that the selection process for the LOC had started.
“We had our first interviews for the post of chief executive officer a fortnight ago. We are also having the interviews for the posts of directors for finance, technical and administration in Harare today(Friday).
“The names of those who will comprise the LOC will be announced before the end of this month because we will still have to notify those who will have been selected before they are announced,” he said.
Nheweyembwa said the LOC was most likely to comprise individuals from the City of Kings.
“The games are being hosted by Bulawayo so the LOC is going to consist of mostly people from that area. We are very happy with the response that we have received for the posts,” he said.
