The rising musician will launch his debut album titled I Wanna Be a Champion first in Bulawayo. The second launch will be in Harare before it is taken to South Africa’s 10 provinces.

The 10-track album’s title track I Wanna Be a Champion has become a hit on local radio stations Star FM and ZiFM. It also has four videos which are doing well on ZBC TV.

“I Want To Be a Champion is all about expressing how I feel coming from the dull music industry of Bulawayo. It carries tracks of love and gospel,” Pronix said.

“Bulawayo’s music industry is dull as compared to that of Harare and the album is to inspire other artistes that we can be champions in the industry even though we come from Bulawayo.

“You don’t need to go to Harare or South Africa to make it.”

Pronix urged other musicians in Bulawayo to work together to revive the music industry in the city.

“Let’s do it our own way in Bulawayo and make an impact on the outside world because I believe if you can make it in Bulawayo you can also make it anywhere in the world,” he added.

The Bulawayo-born artiste, who started music at a tender age, did secondary school at Gifford High School.

He went on to form a band of four and was signed by AU Records.

In South Africa, he has worked with Afro-Culture, who have worked with the legendary Oliver Mtukudzi.
