The show was called off just after midnight, as it became clear that the crowd numbers would not grow any bigger. Club Vegas 999 was almost empty at midnight leaving Stunner’s management no choice, but to call off the show. There were less than 20 people, including staff members, inside the club, with some revellers saying the $5 entrance fee was prohibitive.

“I am actually shocked by the situation. I did not expect this to happen and I don’t know the reason,” Stunner said.

An angry fan, Byron Watsikenyere who demanded a refund but did not get it. He blamed the club management for failing to market both the show and the new joint.

“Stunner deserves better than this. How can they advertise the show with two days to go and expect people to come? Worse still the place is new!” he said.

The club was half-packed by 6pm and everyone was forced to pay $5 or leave the place and this did not go down well with people who resorted to alternative nightspots. There were efforts by Club Vegas’ management to take the show to Club Forty 40, which they also own, as there was a bigger audience there, but the efforts were fruitless. Rosie Mutorerwa, a manager at Club Vegas responded angrily when asked why efforts to take the show to Club Forty 40 had failed, saying this reporter should not tell her how to do her job.
