CHICKEN Inn forward Kuda Mahachi has been suspended ahead of his team’s league match against Black Mambas at the weekend.

Mahachi — a key member of the Bulawayo side gunning for their maiden championship — was suspended for accumulating three yellow cards and will miss one match.

Also suspended is the Triple B pair of Timire Mamvura and Alec Marime. Triple B will take on bottom-placed Motor Action this weekend. Meanwhile, veteran defender David Kutyauripo has returned from injury which had kept him on the sidelines for almost two months.

The Harare City defender has been in a plaster since injuring his hand in a league tie against army side Buffaloes.

The former Dynamos full-back resumed training last week and yesterday spoke about his aspirations for launching a bid to wrestle the championship from Dynamos. Harare City will have a tough fixture against FC Platinum on Saturday and Kutyauripo will need to work harder to regain his top form. “It has been painful watching on the sidelines for almost two months

I was on top of my game when I got injured and now I have to start all over again. It will not be easy claiming a place in a team that has been doing well like this, but it’s all up to the coaches. I have got the experience and I know I will get back into the team soon.

The team has been doing well and we are all happy. What is important is for us to stay focused and not lose concentration.” Mawiwi welcomed the return of Kutyauripo. “He is back in training and is available for selection this weekend.

He might play this weekend if he is selected. It’s good to have him back in the team. It brings competition in the team. It’s healthy,” Mawiwi said. Harare City go into the match against the Zvishavane-based side on the back of a morale-boosting win against Monomotapa last week which extended their lead at the top of the league table to 34 points — three points ahead of second placed Dynamos. Highlanders and Chicken Inn are third and fourth, but have the same points as champions Dynamos.
