JOHANNESBURG — Zimbabwean Tendai Dikinya was among the winners in last night’s finale of the SABC 1 talent show U Can Do It!
Along with Phaksy, Marvin, Musa and Khayalakhe, Tendai will share a prize of R150 000 plus a recording deal with Universal Records.
Their group in which Tendai, known in these parts as Crimson Blu was the only girl, will now work their way into a commercial super-group which we hear is called The Maples.
The 23-year-old caught the eye of many after she featured on Tatea Da MC’s award-winning track H Town.
According to the show’s website, Tendai currently works as a sports coach and administration officer.
She entered the show to realise her lifelong dream of becoming a world renowned musician, artist, writer and poet.
Her biggest hope is to make a mark and breakthrough on the South African music scene. She first realised that performing is her passion when she used to sing at all school events in pre-school.
The talent show is based on the search, discovery, moulding and the success of the new superstars.
