Speaking during the official commissioning of the Joshua Mqabuko Nkomo International Airport in Bulawayo, Mugabe said land at the Heroes’ Acre was filling up as party cadrés were dying at an early age.

The cemetery measures 57 acres and is situated on a hill close to Warren Park suburb next to the National Sports Stadium in Harare. Mugabe said most young people in Zanu PF who should be emulating the late veteran nationalist’s character, were dying young and as a result, burial space was dwindling at the national shrine.

“The Heroes’ Acre is getting full now,” Mugabe said.

“People die as soon as they get to 40 years plus, 50 years plus; they get cancer, diabetes. People must go and get doctors’ examinations at least once a year. Let the doctor see how the lungs and heart are and obviously the doctors would say you do not need this, you need this.” Twitter feedback @silasnkala
