The Zvishavane-based outfit confirmed the signing of Warriors talismanic forward Knowledge Musona’s young brother Walter and Wisdom Mutasa who joins his father and coach Lloyd.

The platinum miners also remained true to their tradition of promoting junior talent as compared to their once-favoured spending spree that characterised their transfer business.

Club president George Mawere confirmed the club’s latest signings in a Press statement released to the media yesterday.

“For the current season, we have sought to boost our team by a number of new signings. These include Young Warriors attacker Walter Musona from Aces Academy, promising linkman Wisdom Mutasa, Steven Sibanda from Buffaloes and bustling striker Tarisai Rukanda.

“In line with our long-term strategy of grooming local talent and giving exposure to players in our development sides, (Under-19 and Guinea Fowls Academy), we have promoted Tatenda Dzumbunu, Livingstone Genti and Godfrey Chisango, from junior teams and DC academy’s talented James Marufu,” the statement read.

Mawere added that they hope to retain their top four placing in the 2014 PSL season and continue contributing to the development of the game in the country.

“It is our belief that the 2014 soccer season will see us maintain our top-four position, building loyal supporters and contributing to the development of soccer excellence in our country,” he said.

The Platinum miners are also closely following Devon Chafa’s situation at Dynamos and are believed to waiting for his ban by Fifa to be lifted on March 1 before they can mount a serious bid for him.

The Zvishavane side are reported to have reached an agreement with Chafa, but a deal can only be signed after March 1 when he will be eligible to return to the game.
