In a communiqué sent to member associations, ITF expressed regret at the delay and promised to come up with the dates and venue in two weeks’ time. The world tennis controlling body normally informs its member associations of the venue and dates around November and December but they are still to do so.

TZ Zimbabwe administrator Cliff Nhokwara confirmed receipt of the ITF correspondence adding that the delay might affect the host nation.

“The delay will not affect the players in any way. In fact it gives the players time to participate in more tournaments,” he said.

Zimbabwe has for the past two years offered to host the tournament without success.
