Kwarteng, who said he had watched most of Manyuchi’s fights, admitted that the Masvingo-born pugilist would give his boxer a good fight when the two boxers trade leather next month.

Manyuchi is set to take a crack at the vacant World Boxing Council (WBC) welterweight title when he faces Ghana’s Patrick Allotey at Government Complex in Lusaka on March 15. Kwarteng said he had watched videos of most of Manyuchi’s previous fights to have a better understanding of the Zimbabwean boxer’s style of boxing.

“It is part of training, you need to know your opponent and from what I saw Charles is a good boxer,” he said.

The fight will be good and interesting.

“Fighting away is not easy because the fans are not for you, so you have to fight to convince everyone that you have won and that is what we are training for.”
