The Zora Butter hitmaker will firstly perform at Circus Hall in Gweru on Saturday before taking his act to Tropicana Hotel in Kwekwe on Sunday.

Event organiser Tafadzwa Maridhadhi confirmed the events to Southern Eye Lifestyle yesterday.

“The Sungura-starved fans in the Midlands province have requested for Macheso and they should expect energy-filled performances by the sungura king,” Maridhadhi said.

“Fans should come in numbers and dance the night away with Cheso Power.

“A lot has been prepared and these shows are set to kickstart the year with a bang,” he added.

Macheso’s manager William Tsandukwa echoed the same sentiments as Maridhadhi.

“All is set for the king of Sungura to dazzle the Midlands province,” he said.

The sungura maestro is expected to select new tracks off his forthcoming album expected to be released sometime this year after his last Kwatabva Mutunhu which did not do well on the market.

“Mukomana uyu (Macheso) will give his fans a feel of how the new album tastes like,” Tsandukwa added.

“He has been doing this by performing at least two or three songs from the album which is due in April.

“This is for people to familiarise with the new stuff which we believe is going to make waves when it’s out to the whole country.”
