After some fascinating contests in the preliminaries, competition is expected to hot up and defences become meaner and strikers eager to poach more goals.

Going into this weekend’s fixtures two players head the goalscoring chat, Kudakwashe Musharu from Zimbabwean club side How Mine is joint top with the 1,94m tall Senegalese striker Mame Niang who plays for South Africa club SuperSport United.

Both of them have found the net three times as their clubs prepare to face the Seychelles’ St Michel United and Kenya’s AFC Leopards respectively.

A goal behind on two are Fenosa of St Michel and Gladison of Madagascar’s ASSM Elgeco Plus, KeÏta of Petro Athletico of Angola, Seibeb from Namibia’s African Stars, Simamunda of Ferroviario of Mozambique, Tambe of Cameroon’s Union Douala and AFC Leopards’ striker Allan Wanga.
