Zina president, Letitia Chipandu confirmed they had added two more teams to the league although she could not have the names of the teams at hand.

“The league is set to start on March 16 and we have added two more teams to the league. I do not have the teams with me at the moment,” she said.

Chipandu said the league had decided to add two more teams to cover teams from the Southern Region.

“We will be looking at teams that performed well at the play-offs and those are the teams that will be added to the league.

“We want to cover teams in the Southern Region,” she said.

Chipandu said Airforce and ZRP Midlands are some of the teams that they are targeting for promotion into the Super League.

The netball Super League had 20 teams in the league and last month four teams were relegated at the playoffs that were held in Harare.

City of Harare, ZRP Harare Central, ZRP Bulawayo and Chinhoyi University were relegated while Jumbo Queens, Corn Gold Mara, Warthog and Support Unit were promoted into the league.

Jumbo Queens are the only team from Bulawayo and they join Khami Queens, Hwange Colliery and ZPC Hwange from the region.

Now defunct Railstars are the only team from the region to have won the league title consecutively. They, however, disbanded last year due to financial constraints.
