Five candidates are believed to have shown interest in the position that fell vacant following the resignation of Losson Mutongwiza after allegations of racism arose.

The candidates who have shown an interest in the post are expected to be interviewed by a committee comprising Judith Chiyangwa, Donald Mangenje, Aaron Jani and Liam Middleton.

However, Mangenje will not be part of the interviewing team as he has commitments elsewhere.

The interviewing panel will then make recommendations to the ZRU executive committee which will then make the final decision.

ZRU executive vice-president Colleen De Jongé refused to divulge the names of the candidates, but is certain that the position will be filled before the tour to South Africa next month.
