The former supermodel gave birth on Tuesday afternoon in a hospital in Welkom, South Africa.

Chris Mhlanga, the father to the child, told Southern Eye Lifestyle minutes after the delivery: “We have been blessed with a bouncing 3,5 kg huge baby girl — Stephanie April Mhlanga (S.A.M). Sammy (Tshuma) is very excited though tired, but she will be fine.”

The 42-year-old entrepreneur, who was still in Bulawayo when he announced the birth of his child, said he was excited about the new addition to the family.

“I need to thank God the Almighty as we all know having a kid is a blessing. Already I am a proud dad to two girls. I am very excited about the new addition to my beautiful family and I am proud of Sammy for delivering a healthy baby, this will not only strengthen our bond but also ties the two families as blood relatives,” he said.

Mhlanga added that it won’t be hard for Tshuma to get back to her normal business.

“Sammy is a hard worker. She has already been active with me in various business projects as well as assisting a particular modelling agency and we will work on a diet and fitness programme to get her industry standard figure back in no time. So before we all know she will be back in the limelight doing her thing,” Mhlanga said.

Quizzed if everyone should expect a model in S.A.M, Mhlanga said: “Yes, definitely she was said to be tall at first scan and her mom tells me she is gorgeous. I will travel to South Africa soon, to meet my family and to certify the baby’s birth records as the father.”

Efforts to get hold of Tshuma were fruitless as she was still in hospital and not yet ready to talk to the press.

The two have been together for the past three years and are set to tie the knot soon. They have been working together in various business projects, including the Miss Grand International.

Tshuma stole the limelight when she was crowned Miss Tourism Zimbabwe in 2010 held at the Harare International Conference Centre.
