ANESU Gondo stole the limelight on Sunday after scoring a brace to steer Dynamos to a comfortable 3-1 victory over city rivals Harare City in a Castle Lager Premier Soccer League tie at the National Sports Stadium. SPORTS REPORTER

Former Triangle midfielder Walter Mukanga who came in as a second-half substitute to replace Devon Chafa weighed in with the other goal as DeMbare leapt to the top of the league table after dislodging bitter rivals Highlanders who were held to a 1-1 draw by coal miners Hwange.

But it was Gondo who made the headlines with his two goals — his first since joining the champions at the start of the season. He missed the first two matches against How Mine and ZPC Kariba.

Dynamos now enjoy a cool breeze at the summit of the league table after dislodging old foes Highlanders at the weekend and will face off against new boys Chapungu in a midweek match at Ascot Stadium hoping to maintain their lead. Chapungu are on 10th position on the league table with five points in four matches and will be hoping to collect maximum points at home.
