JOHANNESBURG – Zimbabwe’s Zanu PF is not supporting the Economic Freedom Fighters and has never done so, the ANC’s Free State provincial secretary William Bulwane has said.
“It is not true that the EFF is supported by Zanu PF. Zanu PF supports nobody but the people it has been in the trenches with. There is no way that they would abandon us,” Bulwane said.
He was speaking at a press briefing to announce former liberation movement members across Africa who are in South Africa to observe the elections.
They have been in the country for the past seven days and include Alfos Kinamhala from Chama Cha Mapinduzi in Tanzania, Agnes Kafula from the South West African People’s Organisation in Namibia and Abigail Damasane from Zanu PF in Zimbabwe,
Damasane said they were impressed with how the ANC had managed to stay in the lead.
“For the past six days we have only really seen yellow, green and black colours in the areas we visited. “There are issues we have seen but just because there are issues does not mean you have to lose your surname,” Damasane said.
