THE Zimbabwe National Chamber of Commerce (ZNCC) Matabeleland chapter tonight hosts the region’s annual business awards, the Matabeleland Annual Business Awards dinner at the Zimbabwe International Trade Fair grounds aimed at fostering a competitive culture within industry.
It will be held under theme: “Excellence, integrity and innovation — the key to a sustainable economy”.
ZNCC acting regional manager Mduduzi Ncube said the purpose of the awards is to honour and recognise noteworthy business performance for the 2013.
“These awards are aimed at fostering a competitive culture within industry, a culture founded on good workmanship, with prospects of ultimately translating to improved product and service delivery, thereby heightening the spirit of excellence in mundane business practice,” he said.
“As a nation, we strive perennially to grow from strength to strength with regards the aggregate economic outlook. One sure way of succeeding in this endeavour is through amalgamating as often as we possibly can in pursuit of business ideas that will culminate in the crafting of lasting solutions to our ubiquitous economic woes,” he added.
Ncube said the awards provide a perfect opportunity for networking and expansion of one’s business database in a serene dining environment.
The awards categories for this year include exporter of the year mining, small to medium enterprises of the year, business of the year, businesswoman of the year, rural business person, corporate social responsibility, best HIV and Aids awareness, exporter of the year agriculture, exporter of the year manufacturing, manager of the year, entrepreneur of the year and exporter of the year tourism.
